Plumbing Leak Detected Behind Tile
Absolute Inspections Infrared Inspection detected the location of pipe leak behind the tile of a master shower.

Infrared Scan discovered a significant water leak from improperly installed showerpan/tile.
Infrared Inspection of the neighboring bedroom reveals that moisture has traveled under the shower and into the bedroom carpet.
Missing Insulation
Infrared Inspection detects exterior walls that are missing insulation. These areas are inaccessible to visual inspection. Improperly insulated areas show up as hot in summer and cold in winter. This is a major efficiency concern.
In cold weather the uninsulated areas appear as a dark colored to the Infrared Camera.
In hot weather the uninsulated areas appear as a light colored to the Infrared Camera.

I had decided on using Absolute Inspections as we were 30 days from the one year builders warranty period expiration. I needed to have the assurance that all was satisfactory with the home. I was very pleased with the level of service and professionalism exhibited by Kevin. He was extremely thorough during the process, took the time and patience to explain all that he was doing during the inspection. The final report was very useful in meeting with builder to resolve the issues noted. Also, the roof had been replaced as a result of the late spring storms and Kevin noted some minor deficiencies that if not corrected could have been more costly to repair later. His report again was key in my meeting with the roofing company in the final resolutions and repairs. Many of the other deficiencies noted that when corrected resulted in savings. As a simple example, the use of his infrared camera noted cold air drafts above the interior frame on the exit doors and also bad door seals. Having the builder replace the exterior door seals and simply caulking corrected the problem. Kevin's service provided me with peace of mind and for the cost, it was well worth it. I highly recommend Kevin's service to any homeowner prior to their closing and if new construction then again prior to the builders warranty expiration.

I had the builder come back and fix the nail pops and some cracks in the trim work- they looked at the cement crack- said it was too small to do anything with- They thought the smell was from the tub and jets- we will try to run a cleaner thru them- I did not pursue any of the code things since they were not required to install them when built. I really liked the report you sent- i am going to keep it so i have some reference for anything in the future.
I though the inspections and report was really worth the $.

I contacted Kevin at Absolute Inspections per a referral from a close friend - he came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I was completely new to this whole house buying process and from the get-go, Kevin has been fantastic. Throughout this part of the process, Kevin has been very friendly and professional. To start, he showed up on time. Then immediately got to work. He checked out every last nook and cranny, took notes, took pictures, asked questions and took a few moments to chat during the process - obviously at ease with his task. When he was finished, he gave a preliminary report and answered the many questions that we had. He never treated me like the novice I am. He didn't talk down to me - he talked to me. He was patient and thorough and explained things in easy to understand terms and when I still wasn't sure, he showed me. Then, true to his word, I had an official inspection report within a couple of days. The report was very thorough and left few questions. A couple of weeks later, Kevin followed up with me to see how things went and offered his time to answer any questions I might have. I took him up on it and he took the time to answer questions and offer advice in a simple, honest and frank manner. The home inspection that Kevin Weiss provided for my home purchase in 2008 was first rate and exceeded my expectations. Kevin is a detail-oriented Building Inspector that I hired during March 2010. He brought his IR camera with him and did a thorough inspection inside the home. He carefully looked for moist spots and missed insulation on the walls. Outside too he walked the roof and around the home and found all the minor issues that could have been easily missed by a normal eye. He gave expert guidance through out the inspection. After the inspection, I got a very nice professional report that I could just hand it off to the builder to fix the issues found.
